Parliament Gets Canola Education

Robert Hunter, vice president of communications at the Canola Council of Canada, testified on Parliament Hill last week regarding canola oil’s contribution to healthy lifestyles for Canadians, reported The Western Producer. He made the case for farmers’ roles in contributing to a healthy diet, such as their ability to adopt new varieties of canola with healthier traits. "An Alberta canola grower once said, ‘The success of the canola industry will be measured by the number of [reduced] heart attacks per acre," Hunter said.
