Canada and China Celebrate Trade

Canadian Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz visited China this month for a celebration of Sino-Canadian agricultural trade, where he praised the contribution of Canadian canola to the Chinese economy and its role in reducing the risk of heart disease, according to a CanolaInfo press release. The Canadian canola crop offers China both health and wealth by producing one of the healthiest vegetable oils in the world and being processed in China, notes Ritz in the statement. The event also marked the launch of CanolaInfo’s website in Mandarin, a portal for promoting the health benefits of Canadian canola oil to Chinese consumers.
