The collection features a mix of snacks and meals made with canola oil that provide complex carbohydrates, protein and healthy fat. “A good workout is draining and can lead to fatigue and sore muscles,” says Michele Macedonio, R.D., C.S.S.D., L.D. a veteran sports nutritionist and team dietitian for Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds. “The right combination of foods helps restore energy and nutrients used during exercise and prepares your body for the next workout.” Dishes include Powerhouse Green Smoothie and Skillet Quinoa with Black Beans, Cilantro and Feta. Macedonio interviewed with 20 radio stations Jan. 7 as part of a media tour on the recipes and sports nutrition. Also on Jan. 7, a news release promoting the recipes appeared on more than 300 news websites.
