Super Start for Super Sides

On Nov. 12, CanolaInfo launched a bilingual holiday recipe campaign featuring six healthy side dishes inspired by the Latin kitchen. “Super Sides” campaign spokesperson Manual Villacorta, a registered dietitian and book author, spoke with English and Spanish radio stations across the country about the recipe collection he developed including Green Bean Saltado, Yuca Coconut Patties and Fiesta Rice. He discussed using Latin flavours to spice up traditional holiday menus and choosing healthier ingredients such as canola oil. Broadcasts, including a nationally syndicated Spanish program, were heard by more than 1 million listeners. English and Spanish news releases showcasing all the recipes appeared on more than 340 websites. The campaign is featured on CanolaInfo.org as well as CanolaInfo.org/espanol.
