Replacing saturated and trans fats in your diet with mono- and polyunsaturated fats is easy with canola oil. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends using canola oil to increase monounsaturated fat intake while reducing saturated fat. Unsaturated fats do not raise LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels and have a variety of health benefits when eaten in moderation.
