Bon Appétit with Canola Oil

On her blog Mon Appétit, cookbook author and food writer Cynthia Nims shared her experience at CanolaInfo’s Canola Camp in Saskatoon in July. Among her new culinary experiences was a pitchfork fondue – cooking juicy steaks speared on the end of a pitchfork in a giant vat of canola oil. In addition to learning novel ways to cook with the oil, Nims learned about canola’s origins and health properties. “Spending time with canola farmers, seeing the process from seed to field to dinner plate proved an invaluable way to better appreciate one of the more ubiquitous ingredients we reach for in our kitchens,” she said.
