September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and Prostate Health Month so it’s the perfect time to make a few diet tweaks to stay well. A nutritious diet can help keep prostate cells in check while a poor diet can boost their unhealthy growth. The Bangor Daily News noted: “The type of fat one consumes is significant. Aim for less saturated fat — 10 percent or less of your total daily calories.” Substituting canola oil for other cooking oils is a great way to reduce intake of saturated fat and increase monounsaturated and omega-3 fats.
