Cut Saturated Fat During the Holidays

Thanksgiving may have passed, but December is filled with tempting treats from Christmas parties to New Year’s celebrations. Registered dietitian Julie Upton shares some tips with PopSugar to lighten dishes without sacrificing flavour. For example, she suggests eliminating crusts from pies to cut down on calories and saturated fat. Upton also recommends baking with canola oil because it is heart-healthy, low in saturated fat and has a neutral flavour.
