Lighten Up the Holidays

Katherine Brooking and Julie Upton, both registered dietitians, share with Newswatch viewers how to make holiday recipes healthier by using canola oil. They emphasize how it is low in saturated fat and has a qualified health claim from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that it can reduce the risk of heart disease when used in place of saturated fat. Because of its neutral flavour, canola oil also works well in many recipes, including dressings and marinades.
