Cook like a 'Top Chef' Judge
At a recipe demonstration, “Top Chef” Judge Gail Simmons of Food & Wine magazine offered her insight on cooking and canola oil, reports Lake Michigan Shore magazine. “There are those that just throw everything into a pot and those that follow a recipe step-by-step,” she says. “I think the best is a combination of both. You can’t be afraid to change, adapt, you don’t need to stick to a recipe so closely that you don’t have fun.” When it comes to cooking oils, she uses canola oil due to its neutral flavour and high smoking point.
