New Canola Oil Available for Commercial Use
Cargill announced the launch of their high stability canola oil with a saturated fat content of 4.5% or less. The new oil will be available for use in food service and packaged food products. Food Dive reported on the announcement, pointing out that public interest is growing in specialty cooking oils; while at the same time, there is confusion about what is healthy. They advise that it will be important to continue to educate consumers on the importance of reducing saturated fat intake.
