The infamous “freshman 15” is an unfortunate side effect for many college students. However, avoiding weight gain at college is not that difficult suggests the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which recommends consuming healthier fats like those found in canola oil. Additional tips include not skipping meals, controlling portion size, choosing high-fibre foods, consuming a lean protein at every meal, and drinking water and fat-free or low-fat milk.
