Prevention Magazine offers up lifestyle changes for managing blood cholesterol levels to reduce the risk of heart disease. Among them: the use of unsaturated fat, including canola oil, in preference to saturated fats and trans fats. Quoting Dr. Walter Willett, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Life Extension reports that “85% of trans fat have been removed from the food supply”, replaced by healthier unsaturated fats, such as canola oil.
